Our Pastor

Rev. Moni Mathew has been the Pastor at First Church of God since 2000. He came into the leadership of the church at a very critical moment having obeyed the call of God upon his life. Immigrating to the United States from India in 1973 with his parents and brothers, Rev. Mathew worked in different capacities in planting and building up this church from driving the children back and forth for Sunday School to different administrative functions. He was credentialed as an ordained Pastor of the Church of God in 1998 and served as a minister under the leadership of the church.

Since taking over the responsibility of shepherding the church, Pastor Mathew has continued to lead by exampleby not only being a voice from the pulpit but also being a hands on person with each and every ministry of the church and its believers. He is ably assisted by a team of dedicated ministers serving in different capacities.

Rev. Mathew is a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is supported by a ministry-oriented family comprising of Kunjamma Mathew, his wife, Cecil Mathew and Family, Lindsay Mathew and Family and Justin Mathew the three sons God has blessed him with.

Pastor Mathew states that it is exciting to be a part of an established yet growing church. He states his vision and passion for the church as “We are growing in numbers. But even better, we are growing in our relationships with God and with each other. We are learning to share God's love, forgiveness, healing, peace and power with those our lives touch. It is our desire as a local church to have a measurable impact on our community and our city. My greatest joy is being able to introduce people to Jesus and to help them discover or rediscover their faith.
